Welcome, Loves2laugh!
My first CBV order arrived the last day of May. I have spent these few months learning about Scent Shots and Candles that need curing time, learned how to use a wick trimmer, and figured out that these things came into my life to remind me that patience is a good thing to cultivate. I've learned that florals cure faster than bakery scents. My florals like Lily of the Valley, Honeysuckle and Jasmine cure in 5 to 7 weeks. I've learned to expect my bakery scents to take two months or more to cure. Non-Bakery scents like Cold December Night seem really fast by comparison. I think you may enjoy The Bath and Body products as a way to enjoy bakery scents sooner than later. I have Shower Fizzies arriving next week that I am really looking forward to. Another way to enjoy bakery scents sooner is the diffuser oil on pages 4 and 5 under Candles.
You will find people here very helpful.

You ordered some nice scents. The first two seem to be very popular around here. You will love Tiffany D.

I'm looking forward to my order and I'm really looking forward to finding out of CBV will become my "go-to" vendor for my wax. My patience has ran out with some of the other ones I was ordering from. Judging from the love on this board- I have no doubt I'll love my products.
mandyz- how did you like the PPS? I know I took a big leap of faith ordering a big candle in it but I think I'll like it.
As far as curing- do you really need to let them cure THAT long?? I thought I read she uses a paraffin-blend wax? Even the soy I've used has never taken months to cure. I totally won't have the patience to wait months... by then fall and winter will be over. LOL!

Welcome to the board! Some scents take longer to fully cure than others do that is true the rule of thumb is to wait at least two weeks but some do take much longer, however some can be ready to melt in a week's time or less depending on if it was just poured before it went out or if it was an extra. Typically just smell your scent shot and if it smells like how you think it should it can be ready, but if it doesn't smell right either on cold sniff or when you start melting it then put the rest of the shot away to cure. Waiting for things to cure is annoying at times but the scent pay off is worth it later. Luckily though Under The Harvest Moon cures pretty quickly in my experience and it is one of my all time favorite scents for fall.
I will warn you though that Victoria's scent shots do take a pretty high wattaged bulb in a tart warmer to melt completely. I think you will need at least a 16 watt bulb. I don't know what kind of warmer you have now so just wanted to give you the heads up just in case you go to melt it and it doesn't melt completely it is probably because of the wattage. But Vic's scents are soo worth it. Most of us used to be wax junkies obsessed with other vendors and now CBV is our top vendor.

The pear is the note I get the most.

Let's suggest the fastest curing Fall and Winter Scents we all know of, shall we?
QTJ recommended Under the Harvest Moon.
Cold December Night is my first suggestion. Clove Nutmeg Reese's Banana Nut Bread! Hollyberry Mistletoe (mild but large throw in 1 week!) I'll look for others.
I bought the Tart Warmer sold on the site. My green one is excellent for Fall and Winter.

Thank you for the suggestions. I have a 24 watt electric warmer that I hope will work well. I had issues with a lower watt one I had from spankee with some melts and so far this one has been awesome.
Does a bigger candle take longer to cure? I've never bought candles from a vendor- always store bought so this part is pretty new to me. I'm so excited though! Haha!

Great order! If you have the bulb type warmer the bulb is usually 25 watts. A lot of people will up the wattage to a 40 watt bulb because the scent shots are a harder wax and do take a higher heat to melt them. However scoop some scent and the gelatos are a softer wax (like candle wax) and will melt in the bulb warmers just fine. I do not have personal experience with the bulb warmers but this is the information that I have read over and over again. The type of warmers that Victoria has on her site do not have a bulb but rather a warming plate, think like a mug warmer or hot plate, with a removable dish on top. Those warmers are 24 watts. The 25 watt bulb and the 24 watt plate warmer are not the same. The plate type warmers are hotter and the most ideal way to melt the scent shots. As far as cure time, Victoria herself recently said that most scents should be good to go in 3 days. It sounds like curing has been over exaggerated. Now there are many veteran CBV addicts who stand by cure time especially with bakery scents. I personally wait at least 2 weeks to melt new scents shots but never too much longer. The only reason I really wait any longer is because I am melting through scents shots that I had first and my new scents are just basically waiting in line. I melt a 1/4 of a scent shot at a time 1)this is really all I need to put off a great scent throw and 2)If a scent really does need more cure time I have 3/4 of that scent to revisit and remelt later. Also so you know if you decide to dive in and light your candle right away and for whatever reason you feel it needs more cure time, it will still continue to cure even after it has been lit. Enjoy your wax and don't worry you wont be breaking any rules

Oh- that's so funny! I didn't realize I wasn't allowed to mention another vendor name and it got changed to "Spankee" LOL!! Too Funny! Yes, I have a 24watt plate warmer. I figured it was a good investment since the harder wax wasn't melting in the other one I had. I figure I'll give my stuff around 2 weeks before I try and melt or burn. I also was thinking that I'd try a quarter of a shot at a time. Get more bang for my buck. You guys have been so very helpful! I love reading all the reviews and everyone's favorites. It's going to be hard to space my orders out! LOL!
