So I went with the solar nails, they are sooooooo sore as well. It came out to $40 for them including the 3 dollar tip I gave them. I liked it, I had never been to this place before and it was called solar nails. When I sat down one of the guys asked me if I wanted something to drink, that has NEVER happened to me before. I was generally enjoying myself even came close to nodding off a few time. I don't know what it is but getting my nails done relaxes me, even if the guy is whacking away at my nails. This guy looked like he was one of those hard core military guys, the hair facial structure, everything! He was pretty quiet but I didn't mind. Then when he was near the end one of my old co-workers showed up, one of the thai women that used to harass me and pretty much forced me to quite there. I think she just glanced at me then said hi to everyone else and get this she walked into the salon eating! If I remeber right she ALWAYS had something in her mouth. Anyways here are a couple of pictures of my nails.

PLG---very pretty---Now I am a very conservative person---except when it comes to my nails--I love Bright colors on my nails--especially in the summer in South Fl
So.........I think your nails are really pretty--but I would like that polish all over my nails--not just the tips. LOL It is such a sparkly pretty color!!!!!!!!!!!

Nice! My parents' nail salon is cool, and we're strict about customer service LOL. I've worked there before, ad the majority of the people who come in there laugh their heads off and talk so loud! LOL And even one time, I brought in both of my dogs as a special surprise, and they couldnt stop laughing at my Pomeranian and Shih Tzu trying to get their attention! (: We're considering to put my grand piano in the shop so I could play music from time to time. I think we're also remodeling it and making it bigger.(:

bbm- from what I could see they use powder for the colored tips, it was really kool watching him. There where a few other differences i could but nothing big. Carole D- yea he showed me a board with tons of the colors I could choose from and this one caught my eye, I thin I just merely glanced at the others. Thank you Cathy!!! Rose- that is awesome!! in the salons around here it is generally quiet the technitions don't really talk to you much unless they know you. If it is loud it is from people coming in together or the customers that know each other talking amongst themselves. Awww how cute and sweet that you brought your dogs there. That would be awesome to put your piano in there, I know I wouldn't mind listening.

Pretty, pretty PLG....is it polish on the tip or the solar powder in that color? My nail salon has several different colors of the solar powder for the tips. I have just had my natural nails for 2 years but I used to have solar nails for years....never got colored tips, but my daughter used to! I still go there for manicures and pedicures regularly.....Glad you're happy with your nails!!

Oh PLG, your nails are aweeshum!! I <3 them! I am all about the funky colors and just having the tips painted. Rock it girrrl! hehe
Oh and solar really is the way to go....that and gel. They seem to last longer. The paint doesn't chip, because there is no paint! And if you smoke (ughhhh, I do) they don't turn that dirty yellow color. Good choice!

PLG--with the acrylic --I can go 3/4 weeks in between fills and a fill costs 15.00. How do the solar compare?

I'm not quite sure about that carole, often when I get my nails done I have them on until I decide to take them off ( which I normally do my self) and then I go without for a while. I am trying to be better about that but I forgot to ask them how much a fill usually is. Though next time I may just go to another place, $40 is pretty expensive for nails, I am use to a full set just being $25 and seeing that the solars are $27.
And on them lasting I think it just depends on how fast your nails grow, but the shine is suppose to last longer than acrylics and over all the nice look, the guy also said that solars are suppose to look more natural than acrylics.

Thanks PLG for the info---I keep looking at your tips and thinking how nice that color would look on my whole nail.
When we lived in N.C. for a while--I did my nails one day---every nail a different color---including my toes. We ended up going to the casino that night for dinner and then walked around watching all the action. I never had so many women come up to me as I did that night--gushing over my nails. Dan and I had a good laugh over it.
I do love to go crazy with my nails. Right now I am wearing a bright green--and when I went to the ER the other night--all the nurses were loving them LOL
