I'm new to the forum and also to CBV candles!! Just received my first order a few days ago and can tell that I'm going to be addicted already!! They smell sooo amazing...think I will be saying goodbye to BBW candles from now on!! Lol
I ordered four candles and scent shot in my first order, I got Let it Snow, pumpkin white chocolate, orange vanilla coffee and DKNY! Scent shot was autumn leaves and free scent shot was buttery gingerbread!! I love all of them!! And I'm so glad Victoria sends a freebie with each order, gives me a chance to try something that I wouldn't have chosen! Definitely think I will be ordering the buttery gingerbread next!
Anyways what do you guys recommend for scents to try?? I'd LOVE to hear your favorites!! I like pretty much all scents except nothing too "spicy" ( cinnamony). And also how long should I let them cure for before melting or burning it?
thanks for reading and I can't wait to place my new order!!! Yay!!

Hello and welcome to the board Missdsb Your order sounds great! I have only tried DKNY. I bet Buttery Gingerbread is wonderful. I love when the free scent shot is a scent I'd never pick for myself and fall in love it with it. As far as my favorites scents I like waaaaay to many to list and that list grows every day Here are a few of my faves in no particular order - Sexy In Stilettos Sugared Spruce Balinese Breeze Satsuma French Quarter Peace Under The Harvest Moon Apple Raspberry Crumble Blueberry Flapjacks And sooo many more

Welcome, DSB! My first order arrived in June, so my experience level here is still very modest. I think you should expect to give bakery scents two months to cure. The waiting is HARD! I've been dating each Scent Shot and Candle with its arrival date so I can judge when an appropriate sniff check day arrives. I've driven myself nuts by ordering primarily bakery scents! I burned up a whole candle by lighting and checking it too often instead of being patient, so don't follow my example. The good news is that even if you light a candle it can continue to cure afterwards (The board members are very helpful in providing clues like that!) The floral scents have cured to full glory in five to seven weeks. One or two have been ready to burn on arrival.
It has been fascinating to me to learn about different people's Scent preferences. Unlike you, for Fall and Winter I want all the Cinnamon, Nutmeg and Cloves I can get.
Let me look at my notes for Fall/Winter Scents that are less Spicy.
Pink Cupcake is my choice for a Winter Birthday! The Sweet Treat Candle on page 18 is adorable! Iced Orange Bundt Cake was a yummy Scent Shot so I ordered a candle. Reese's Banana Nut Bread - the Scent Shot was great on arrival- Yum! Night Blooming Jasmine seems a great floral for Fall and Winter. I love it and am waiting on a candle of it to cure. Mistletoe cured in a week, giving a mild but large throw. I ordered Apples and Oranges on the advice of Jason, CharmedLeo on YouTube! He loves Bella Swan by the way. I think of him as having a much more well developed and sensitive sense of smell than I do. The Caramel Apple Ginger Crisp Comfort Candle on page 17 is curing here and might be good for you too unless you don't care for the ginger component. Sugared Spruce in Scent Shot form is already smelling good. It seems to be a board favorite, so I ordered it.

Welcome to the boards! There are a lot of awesome people on here willing to help you with all of your cbv needs There are a few scents I would recommend to you, even though I do like my cinnamon! Pumpkin Pear Strudel- Don't let the strudel scare you! I don't smell any spice or cinnamon in this one. This scent is perfect for fall! It smells fresh and homey at the same time. The pear is sweet and slightly caramelized in my opinion.Pumpkin Pralines- I haven't gotten around to melting this one yet, but it is a favorite of many cbv fans. This scent is extremely caramely (probably not even a word) and nutty since it is a mix of pumpkin and victoria's famous Caramelized Pralines scent. The pumpkin just tones this down alot- I wasn't a fan of Caramelized Pralines on its own.Sugared Corn Pudding- This is another "cult favorite" for fall and winter. Don't let the corn scare you! It smells like a warm, comforting vanilla pudding with a hint of something extra that I just can't put my finger on. But, this scent does make you hungry so you may want to have some instant pudding on hand!
French Crumb Cake- If you don't like really savory bakery scents, this one may not be for you. But, it definitely is delicious. I get a really sugary maple frosting and a hint of bread from my scent shot. It is hard to describe, but it is just warm and comforting.
Lemon Gingersnap Pie-Since you liked your buttery gingerbread scent shot, I figured this one would be something you may like. It is a combination of lemon and buttery gingerbread. At first, this one smells like play-doh, but once it cures, this one comes to life. The lemon adds a little bit of freshness, but the gingerbread contributes that bakery scent we all crave during the colder months.
Carrot Cake Orange Delight-wow! This scent is soooo delicious. I get a sweet carrot cake that isn't to spicy topped off with a little bit of orange cream cheese. This scent is a must for everyone! I am seriously obsessed.
Peppermint Bark- Since you liked the Pumpkin White Chocolate scent, I figured you may enjoy this one. If you have ever had or smelled an Andy's Mint, you know exactly how this smells. It is a creamy peppermint that isn't too strong with rich, creamy chocolate. This is the perfect balance for me, but some think it is too chocolatey. If you want even more of a kick of peppermint with a hint of chocolate, I would suggest trying Peppermint Patty.
All of these scents would require around two months of curing time because they are all bakery. Pumpkin Pear Strudel smelled ready to me when I first got it, though, because the pear didn't need any curing. But, some scents may be ready to your nose right away; curing is based on personal preference. If I were you, I would smell them periodically, which you will probably do anyway out of anticipation, to keep tabs on which ones are close. Good luck!

Oh my goodness..thank you all for being so welcoming!! And I appreciate all the suggestions and advice on curing times and so on! I'm putting together another list from all your suggestions! And also from watching lepooke's videos on YouTube...her descriptions are so amazing, I feel like I can smell it through the computer screen LOL!
It will be very difficult for me to hold off on burning or melting my stuff...but I'll try my best lol!

You definitely have to try Tiffany D. It seems to be a favorite among a lot of people. Along with Granny's Pie Crust. I just ordered in my last order and can't wait to smell it.

Have you watched Candleman's wick trimming video? I am still a little shocked at how short y wicks are when they function best. I bought a Clean Cut Wick Trimmer from Amazon.

I know this is super late but I just got my computer back so welcome to the boards! It looks like you got a lot of good scents for your first order. Orange Vanilla Coffee I received as a free scent shot a long time ago and it has become one of my favorites and it was surprising to me because it was a scent I probably wouldn't have gone out of my way to try before.
