Thanksgiving isn't far away so I thought it would be nice if we all said what we were thankful for.
I will go first and say that I am thankful for my loving family. We may not be that big in number but we are here for each other even though we are compiled of many different personalities and life style choices.I am especially thankful for my mother who is my best friend and to whom I know I can tell anything to no matter how gritty or ugly. I'm thankful for the roof over my head and the food in my belly. I have been very blessed by never having to go hungry or cold. I am thankful to God for all that he has provided me and my family especially considering all of the suffering people out there especially in the wake of Typhoon Haiyan. Every day is a gift and sometimes I lose sight of that. I am thankful to all the friends who have stuck by me in times of need and also to all of you wonderful people here on The Pouring Pot. You guys are what make this board such a positive and supportive place to be. You guys are always helpful whether it be on things as serious as personal matters or something as simple as what scent I should try next. Thank you guys for being the wonderful caring people you are. I am thankful to Victoria as well for dedicating her life to making amazing products that are also affordable for the average person. I could probably go on and on but I think I will stop there for now.
So what are some things you are thankful for?

I am thankful for my family. We got some unexpected news last night that my cousin in law died from a stroke at the age of 33. He has a wife and two little girls. To see how my family made sure my aunt got there made me thankful that I have such a strong support system. I know if anything happened to me I would have 50 people ready to give me a hug!

I'm sorry for your loss. Losing someone is terribly hard but it is made easier with a strong support system. I hope your family is able to heal soon.

Mandyz, I am sorry for your loss as well. I pray that father will send peace and comfort to your family especially for the children involved. I am thankful for such an amazing family, the support and love we have for each other is such a blessing. I am thankful for my freedom in America, I know it's not what it once was, and things look worse everyday but at least when I go to bed at night I don't have to worry about myself or my loved ones being killed for our spiritual beliefs. This month is when we recognize the persecuted church, So I am also thankful for being humbled for the things I take for granted. It is so easy to get caught up in not being able to buy as many gifts for my child as some of her friends may get, this month lets me reflect on those that are not being fed today, those that do not have clothes, those that live in fear of being beaten, tortured, or murdered because they chose to be a christian, a muslim, Jewish, I am thankful to have my rights. I am thankful for you ladies and your kindness. I am thankful for my child and getting to watch her grow in character more and more everyday. I am thankful that father may be giving me a chance to go to honduras.

OH wow Honduras! That sounds exciting. Are you going on a vacation or a mission trip?

Cayla, having a great relationship with your mother is so wonderful and I hope when my girls are older they can say the same about me. I am sorry for your loss Mandy My cousin passed away a few weeks before he turned 35 very unexpectedly and really I don't think they ever found his cause of death. He was only 3 months older than me. He was not married and didn't have children which is good but sad for his single mother because he was her only child. I'm glad your family is very supportive of one and another, I know those little girls must be very sad. Shayp, I hope you get the chance to go to Honduras I am thankful for many things, most just the basic comforts of life. A roof over my families head, food to eat, warm water, cars that run (on their last legs but they keep on ticking, go Toyota!) are a few those basic comforts that not everyone has. My family has been pretty healthy this year. Despite my sons peanut allergy which is life threatening, my kids are otherwise healthy and smart (still trying to figure out how we got so lucky). I am thankful that since my sons diagnosis of a peanut allergy last year, that was his first and only reaction (we are VERY careful). Being able to stay home with my kids even though we all make each other crazy at times is another reason I am thankful. I am thankful that my husband supports my new "hobby" (CBV) and I have discovered something that I enjoy. The bonus of this new love for CBV are the wonderful people I have found here. Sharing a common interest with others has really been good for my soul.

Eating can be the highlight of aged residents’ days so in addition to the health benefits, meals also need to appeal to eyes and taste buds!
