So I had to share this, because it's so weird, and not a thing I knew could happen. I have a tart melter in my bathroom and currently it's right below a hook where I hang my Turbie Twist, the awesome microfiber hair towel. I've been melting a lot of really yummy spicy fall scents recently, today was Country Bumpkin, and I hadn't used my Turbie Twist for a while. I washed my hair this morning and put my hair up in the twist. I go about my morning routine and my ears start to feel really hot, almost burning.
I go to the bathroom and take off the twist and OMG , my ears and the part of my face that the Turbie Twist was touching were bright red. At first I thought it was my shampoo, but then when I looked for redness on my scalp it was fine. A thought pops into my head. I think, no way, that's insane. Then I sniff my Turbie Twist and it smells strongly of the last two tarts I melted, and I don't think either one of them is skin safe. The microfiber in the Turbie Twist was so absorbent that it had absorbed the oils from the air and they got on my skin! I sniffed my regular towels, which are on a rack right next to the melter, and they hardly smelled at all. I washed my ears off really well and put some hydrocortisone on and felt better pretty soon.
I think I'll stick with scents that are also on the bath and body list in my bathroom burner from now on and save all the spice for the living room. I love Bora Bora and it matches my bathroom color scheme anyway. I just thought that this was worth sharing just in case one of you also owns a microfiber towel, loves spicy scents and has a tendency to get into crazy accidents like me.
