So how was everyone's Thanksgiving? Did all of you arrive at your destinations safely? Eat tons of wonderful food? Lisa did your food turn out good? Was there any pleasant surprises?
My mother and I had originally planned just to have a small dinner with each other as you guys know, but our plans actually changed when my aunt and uncle (my mother's brother and his wife) called us up and since they were going to do the same thing as us we decided to have a small family Thanksgiving. He made sweet potatoes and chicken and my aunt made this wonderful pumpkin cheesecake (I don't even like eating pumpkin but thought it was good) and we made honey brown sugar ham, my grandmother's macaroni and cheese, and rolls. It was a nice little dinner and good for us since we have been a little estranged from each other. We all love each other but we kind of do our own thing which is strange since we live in the same town and are only about 10 minutes from each other. We all had a good time and all of us agreed we need to get together and do it more often. We all also got to Skype with my grandparents in Florida who were happy to see us all together. I hope you guys had a wonderful Thanksgiving with those you love as well.

I'm glad yours went well. My thanksgiving was fantastic. We had 7 pies total....so there was definitely food for everyone. Then I went black Friday shopping around 9pm and stayed at the mall until 1am. I had a lot of fun and the lines weren't bad at all.

Glad you guys had a good Thanksgiving.. Mine was good as well (besides eating wayyy to much) We also went Black Friday Shopping, which I usually refuse to do, and bought my daughter her Tablet for Christmas. Now we have been visiting with my sister and her new baby. Sorry I haven't been on much my phone doesn't get good signal at the Children's Hospital where her baby is. She gets to come home in a little over a week (keeping fingers crossed) Sooo excited. Can't wait to see how Lisa's dinner went and if her husband got to stay home this year.

I am so glad everyone had a great Thanksgiving! Cayla a honey brown sugar ham sounds amazing! 7 pies Mandy? I would be in heaven! Shay I am sure your daughter will love her tablet We actually had our Thanksgiving dinner today. My husband did go out of town but made it home before I started the turkey this morning. I was going to make the dinner yesterday for just the kids and I but I ate something that made me sick Wednesday night and spent the wee hours of Thursday morning awake and miserable. It wasn't food poisoning or anything, just too much of a good thing. I took a bath with two halves of mystery bath bombs I won a few months ago which made this house smell fantastic. If I had to guess the scents I would say maybe Go-Go Juice and Ai Tori. Either way my skin felt so soft after the bath and I felt rejuvenated. Everyone should try a bath bomb. The kids and I also watched the movie Big which they thought would be awful because it is "old". Oh they giggled and I am pretty sure they liked it despite both of my girl saying it was just "okay". Charlie Brown Thanksgiving was the last movie we watched Thursday night. The crockpot turkey turned out wonderful and trust me up until about 45 minutes before it was suppose to be done cooking we were all worried. I left the little red pop up thinga-majiggy in it and when it popped up I a let out a sigh of relief! The 6.31 lb turkey breast barely fit in my 6 qt crockpot. My OCD, list making, and over planning tendencies really worked in my favor today. It was completely stress free. My daughter Kira was feeling so much better today and she helped me make the apple pie. We used the apple peeler/corer/slicer we bought at Apple Hill this October. I even used it to peel potatoes which was pretty fun and resulted in lots mashed potatoes later. The green bean casserole and sweet potatoes/candied yams were delicious. I use canned yams and just top them with butter, brown sugar, and mini-marshmallows, I could eat them every single day. The stuffing was just Stove Top but I used the turkey juices (1/2 cup broth, 1/2 cup white cooking wine, plus the juices from the turkey and liquid from the chopped onion and celery ) in place of the water. I am taking a little break from cleaning up and making room for pie. In addition to the apple pie we baked a frozen Claim Jumpers blackberry pie. Country Coffee Cake is melting which seemed to be a great scent to melt while enjoying a cup of decaf and eating pie. The timing of everything worked out perfectly. We are able to eat a Thanksgiving dinner together even though technically it was a day late. The number day isn't what is important anyway. Being together is what really matters. I will admit I'm pretty proud that I pulled off Thanksgiving dinner for the first time solo. I am also very lucky to have a husband who with out asking jumps in takes over the clean up. Off to taste pie!

Wow Mandy that is a lot of room to make in your stomach for all those pies. I'd want to try a piece of every single one. Glad that Black Friday shopping wasn't a nightmare and the lines weren't that bad. Shay I hope your sister and her new baby get to come home on time and I hope the baby is still healthy. Lisa you are absolutely right it isn't the day that matters it is the family you spend it with. I'm glad to hear that both you and your daughter are feeling better now. It sounds like your dinner turned out great! How did your apple pie turn out? Might have to burn Apple Gingerbread Spice today to get my mind off of the delicious apple pie I wont be having lol. I thought of getting a bath bomb in Whistlin Dixie but I hardly ever take baths, I'm more of a shower person because I don't have the patience to just sit and relax in the tub really lol. Might be tempted to buy one in the future though just to see how well the product works. I go through phases sometimes where I will randomly want to take a bath and it might be good to have one at home for whenever that time comes. I didn't do any shopping on Thanksgiving or Black Friday now that tomorrow is December 1st I feel like it is going to be a mad dash to get everyone's presents and I wrap all the presents even the ones my parents buy for my siblings and myself lol. (if they tell me not to look I don't look though, but usually I'm the one who orders it so I know what it is anyways haha) Might have to try and sweet talk my dad into braving the cold and getting out our Christmas stuff so I can get the tree up. Also need to finish shopping for my Secret Santa. Less than two weeks left before we need to ship them out and I need to get on it!

I'm not really a bath taker either. We had the biggest bath tub in our apartment that we lived in for 3 years and I never once took a bath. We have lived in this house since August 2011 and the only baths I have taken were with Melissa's bath bombs that I won. I would love to have more bath bombs in scents that I love.....Pink Chiffon, Sexy In Stilettos....Vanilla Sugar.
My teen knows almost all of her presents because it is really hard to buy close for her small body (4'11" and she is probably done growing). If we are smart we will start wrapping now. Hiding things of course is BIG challenge!
