Hello all. I am new to cbv, I was just wondering what kind of warmer works with the sent shots?. I have a wankee candle electric tart warmer with the removable wax reservoir it's basically brand new. I have read that you need a certain kind of warmer. I have two fur babies "kitty cats" and am not very interested in the tea light warmers. I placed my first order not for me, but for my neighbor kinda like a pay it forward thing. The second day I placed an order just for myself. Any advice on the warmer would be much appreciated thank you all in advance.

Haha don't worry about the wankee candle thing the boards automatically edit and change the other big candle company names for legal purposes but we all understand what company you meant. Welcome to the boards! We all hope you like it here and end up loving CBV as much as we do. As for your question, Victoria's scent shots have a bit harder wax than a lot of other companies tarts so it takes a higher wattage bulb in the warmer you use. I don't know what wattage your new warmer has but I believe at least a 20 watt bulb should suffice. I personally have two warmers but they were bought from Victoria's website and they are 24 watt bulbs and I have never had a problem with them in the year and a half I've had them. I would say check your warmer's wattage and if it is too low buy a new bulb for it or buy a new warmer. The ones from Victoria's site are great but I know there are a lot of others out there that will work well too you just need to keep an eye on the wattage. I hope this helped you some. Btw I think it was very kind of you to order for your neighbor. That is very sweet.

I have best results with 24 watt hot plate warmers or 40 watt bulb warmers. You could try the spankee warmer and see how it works. Also you could try the scoop some scents or gelatos which are a softer wax and work well in lower wattage warmers

Thank you both for the reply. I'm brand new to tarts and warmers. Isn't the hot plate and bulb warmer the same thing? I'm rather confused lol.

The hot plate warmer has a hot surface (plate) in which the dish sits on top of. While the bulb warmers uses a small light bulb to heat the dish. Hope that helped.

Ok I see. My tart warmer is electric, it has a light bulb inside the box that warms up the hot plate and the wax goes in the dish on top of the hot plate. I am headed to get a higher wattage now.

Just be careful honey not to put in a too high wattage. Just heard a woman's friend over on the CBVAU page tried a 40 watt bulb in her shitsy warmer and it shattered and struck her in the eye so I would choose a lower wattage closer to 20 just to be on the safe side.

Oh thats scary! The one I just bought is a bulb warmer not the hot plate one. The bulb warmer should work fine?

I just bought one for a friend and it's a 24 watt bulb warmer. I placed some CBV wax (1/4) on the dish. I wanted to make sure I would be able to buy her wax from CBV.. So far I find that it is melting slower than the wax does on my warmer (purchased from CBV) but it is melting and the room smells fantastic. I think the only downfall I see is, I will not be able to purchase a candle for her to put on her warmer like I am able to do with the one I purchased from CBV because the ones from CBV the dish can come off and there is still a place to put your candle, on this one and the one you bought if you remove the dish all you see is the lightbulb. Also you should know that if you find a scent you like you can purchase Victoria's Scoop Some Scent and the wax is softer so it doesn't take such a high watt bulb to melt the wax. Hope this helps.

I prefer the hot plate warmers to the bulb warmers. Because they can melt hard and soft waxes. And I don't have to worry about replacing light bulbs. I tried melting CBV on a bulb warmer (20 watt) and it didn't fully melt and the scent throw wasn't very strong.
