One of these days I'm going to make a candle order only and also order a wick trimmer. LOL Jenn, a black smudge on the face could mean a make up mishap or a wax addict :)I have used my fingernails many times before as well. Okay guys I did it! I placed an order No regrets Okay only one......I should have got a Bake Shoppe Candle. I'm going to have to be on a scent shot buying freeze for awhile. Let's call this my icky week, MOTM, cheer-me up order - Scent Shots-

Oh! Definitely would be interested on your thoughts on a lot of these. Especially dogwood blossoms. For some reason dogwood blossoms smells really awful in the beginning of spring but they really do mellow out very nice afterwards. I'm assuming the scent is captured by the latter =0D
Good for you in ordering! I have items in my cart as well... but I haven't even received my first order so my logical thinking is to wait, pueeheehee.

I guess I'm a barbarian puahaha I just trimmed my homemade lavendar soy candle (from a random gift shop- it seriously smells like nothing) with my fingernail! =0P Lol!! I used to do that! I did that one time before going to class and I guess I touched my face without realizing it! When I went to class my friends were like... Jenn why is there black all over your face! Hahhaha Oh no!! HAHA, alright noted that I MUST watch out for lingering soot. At least your friends will tell you that you got stuff on your face. I once went with an entire day with smudged eyeliner (like raccoon eyes) and none of my coworkers told me. =0(

Lisa: you made a great order! I got sidecar Annie as a free SS in my most recent order and I'm in love with it! I hope your week gets better though!

I hope you find a place of your own soon Jenn! Maybe even have a special place for your CBV stash then. Lol Hanna don't worry my mother and I sometimes attempt the same thing when the scissors we are using just won't reach the bottom of the candle jar. The 8oz after about 1/3 of the jar is left is really difficult to get the things in there to trim it. I normally end up with black stuff all over me, my clothes, and the counter top. I like the idea of nail clippers though. Might be worth trying until I finally give up my resistance and buy the much needed wick trimmer. BTW Hanna your new display picture is very cute! Is that your warmer?

I already told you but I loved Grape Soda! Smells like gummie bears. My mother said it reminded her more of Kool-Aid but I got nothing but yummy sweet gummie bears. It was like our house turned into Candyland. The scent throw is really strong too. It was surprising. No Fizzy Pop carbonation though But I wasn't too let down since I liked the candy scent. Then again I'm a candy sweet scent lover. Might not be what you want if you are expecting like an actual grape soda scent lol. Wasn't a fan of Monkey Juice myself but I know a lot of others enjoy it. My nose just couldn't take the sweet combination of the candy banana Runts smell plus then it has a strong artificial strawberry kiwi note if I remember correctly. You might love this one I just remember my nose finding it a too sweet and too odd scent for me. But I hope your nose isn't like mine. Zucchini Bread is good. Takes a little time to cure and has a strong bready note but is much better once warmed up and the scent throw I think was pretty strong as well. I haven't had it in a while though... Now I'm gonna wonder what I did with it lol. I just ordered Dogwood Blossoms too. I have high hopes for it since Jason had a good review of it on his blog and said it was good for floral haters to try. I hope it is a light softer floral. Trying to delve a bit more out of my comfort zone. With the florals I always try to proceed with caution lol. I keep hearing about Fresh Cut Grass. A surprising number of people are liking it. I tried Field Of Dreams which had a grassy note in it and didn't care for it, but then again I think that may have been the "sunflower" or "sunshine" note. I think it was powdery smelling... I like grass in the summertime though so let me know your thoughts on it when you try it please!

Facinating group of scents you ordered and minimal curing time on most of them, smart girl!

queentakesjack- You made me add Grape Soda and Berry Me Alive to my wishlist. =0P I love candy smells! Yup, the pic is my warmer. It's pretty large so I'm thinking about using it in my living room and maybe a few other warmers for the other bedrooms.
Hate to derail the thread but not sure where to ask this question. Veteran CBVers: when would you predict the next 20% sale (or more)?

I can't say for sure but I would say one will be coming up soon. They used to have them at the first of every month but since they have grown considerably in business I've noticed they are spacing the sales out a bit more now. Usually on holidays they will have sales so I know the latest date would be Easter but they have sales quite often so I'm sure it will probably be before then. If I see it pop up I will definitely post a thread to give you guys a heads up.

I really find myself loving fruity sugary scents and your description of Grape Soda Cayla sounds like something I would love. I haven't tried anything with the sunshine/sunflower note and I'm curious to if it would be something I like or not. I have a feeling Monkey Juice is going to be a scent I either love or hate :/ Jenn I looove Sidecar Annie soooo much! I actually didn't melt my first scent shot of it for awhile because it was just kind of meh to me cold. Sidecar Annie was the first scent shot I completely finished off (I melt a 1/4 at a time). Thanks Abbie , I try to order a variety of different scents because I never know what scent will be a new favorite. I ordered Leather & Lace out of curiosity never thinking I'd love a scent that smelled like leather but I really do love that one. Same with magnolia scents. I thought they'd be to strong of a floral for me but I think they are beautiful. Chelscbvforever, I swear I am more excited for each new order than I was for the one before Hanna, I'm not sure about a sale either but you can always use the "cbvictoria" coupon code and save 10%.

Thanks disalan! I'm trying to hold out for a 20% or greater sale but who knows, it's been really tempting to place another order. I received my first order today and gave everything a good whiff. It was weird but everything at first sniff seemed a little tart/sharp/soapy? I immediately fell in love with Breath of Ireland - I'm burning that first for sure. I guess I might let things cure for a little bit until it suits my nose, due to shipping there was at least 1 week cure time for all of them.
Honeysuckle rose - sniffed cold by the way smells like an almost ripe honeysuckle! I don't smell any rose in it yet.. but I'll let that cure for sure and give yall an update. =0D

Don't worry about them smelling like that at first. They just need some cure time. Especially if the scent shots were in the cold for a long time. Sometimes after you get your packages and they have been sitting in cold warehouses and trucks it makes the shots cold and they don't give off much scent until they warm up a bit. I say store them in a room temperature place for a little while (out of direct sunlight cuz not only could that melt them it could drain some of the color too) and take them out every now and then to sniff.

I'm still in my first year here but I'm hoping for a St Patrick's Day sale. I suspect the natural tendency would not be a 20% discount though.
So Easter may be a best bet.
I had hoped for Mardi Gras but I live in Coastal Mississippi and it is much more on our minds here than in Texas. Thinking about curing times, I went ahead and placed a scent shot and Bath & Body order yesterday. Some of them may be ready for Easter this way. I felt that Hyacinth Body Spray and a Chunk N'Dunk Soap would be perfect for Eastertime. I have an 8 oz. Hyacinth candle curing now. I have a room spray from Aromatique with a Hyacinth based scent that reminded me to look for Hyacinth goodies from Victoria.
