Easter is 2 weeks away and I know this is one of those holidays that some people celebrate and some don't so I was just curious what you guys are doing this Easter? Are you planning on celebrating it in anyway or are you sitting this one out?
I'm excited for Easter. My mom and I are going to color Easter eggs even though there aren't any kids in the house other than the little boy I watch and he is only 2 so he isn't really old enough to trust with eggs even if they are boiled lol. XD We are going to the Easter Vigil at church at 9pm on Saturday, but I'm not sure if we are going to be going to church on that Sunday. It will depend on my mother's health.
Do you guys have any family or fun plans?

I don't think ill do anything this year because of how busy ill be but for the last couple years I helped my friend set up a little Easter egg hunt for her family. Sadly I'm not in contact with them anymore.

Awww, sadly no Easter plans to date. We actually don't get Easter off either so nothing on our radar. Easter egg dyeing sounds so much fun!

Aww that's rough you guys. I'm sorry Jenn that you are so busy. Are you going to be studying for your exam? And it is such a shame how that happens and you lose touch with people you were once so close to. Hanna it's sad you don't get Easter Sunday off. It sounds really fun, but I know how messy I am so I'm just prepared to mess them up. No matter how many years we have been dyeing eggs we still manage to have that one ugly one lol! But I'm gonna try to get creative this year and maybe do a gradient colored egg. I haven't colored eggs in about 5 years so I'm excited to do it again since we grew up doing it together as a family. It will be just me and my mom this time around but I'm sure it will still be fun.

Oh, I don't work on weekends! Back at my old job we had Friday off and at my new company we don't have it. For some reason I have to justify an event with an extra day off. Heh. But I really don't need it. =0P gradient colors trends are still in- that's super cute. Or tie - dye ones!

I just put up some Easter/Spring decorations today that I picked up at the dollar store. It's nothing fancy but it does feel more festive in here. My 9 year is off this week and the next and my daughter in high school is only off next week. It looks like we may have company the Saturday before Easter. My brother-in-law and his kids are 95% coming down for a visit. They live just an hour north of us but we don't see them very often. My husbands brother has two boys and a girl and we have two girls and boy so it will be a full house. This is going to sound awful but I haven't dyed eggs with my kids. We have dyed eggs at a relatives house one year (before my son was born) and to be honest I was so happy the mess wasn't at my house. I know this isn't traditional BUT I bought some fake plastic eggs that are meant to be dyed, decorated, painted ect. I picked up egg paint and a contraption that you put an egg into with a couple of drops of dye and push a button to make it spin while the color coats the egg. With a toddler, cups full of liquid dye give me nightmares. Hopefully my non-traditional egg dying will prove to be fun and less messy My 9 year old is teetering between believing in the Easter Bunny and not believing. EB is bringing nut free sour jelly beans (thank you Gimball's), "Cotton Tails" (cotton candy from Tootsie), little toys and money hidden in a gold egg for each with their initial on the egg.

Spending time with your family sounds like a wonderful time. It really is strange how just an hour away can seem like a country away sometimes. I don't blame you Lisa for not wanting the mess! My mom used to put newspapers down on the kitchen table for my brother and I while we died and she would supervise to make sure we didn't spill too badly. I hope you guys have fun egg dying. I'm debating on when will be the best day dye the eggs. I want it close to Easter but I also want to give myself time to do it and enjoy the eggs before they are cracked and eaten. (Not by me though I dislike boiled eggs lol I just want to decorate them and stare at em) I'm sure your kids will love their eggs! It reminds me of Willy Wonka with the golden eggs! So cute, my mom used to stuff like that for us as kids and I've never forgotten it. We used to wake up with an Easter basket with little eggs inside full of candy, maybe a cd or too (they didn't have ipods back then lol) and some little toys and chocolate bunnies. This year is passing so fast. Can you guys believe that it is almost mid April already? Where has the time flown? Now we are talking about Easter before we know it we will be talking about Christmas plan again lol.

Happy Good Friday everyone. I'm coloring eggs right now and let me tell you that little crayon they give you is not the greatest. I couldn't see the designs I made so my eggs are quite comical. LOL

Happy Good Friday everyone. I'm coloring eggs right now and let me tell you that little crayon they give you is not the greatest. I couldn't see the designs I made so my eggs are quite comical. LOL Our eggs were not the masterpieces I envisioned. That crayon did not work for us either My daughter Kira decoupaged her egg with tissue paper and it looked pretty. I tried her method if decorating and ended up using too much glue. My son mixed all of the paint colors and the painting method resulted in many camouflage green eggs. The less messy and in my opinion funnest decorations were actually silly face stickers. I gave one of my eggs a mustache and a top hat and we had a pirate egg as well as a cat-duck egg.
