I had been using a dark red orange warmer (bought from a store not CBV) for awhile. With the nice weather I wanted a white warmer because it is more cheery and I can also see the color of the scent shots when they are melted (can't see the color in my red orange warmer). So I bought a white warmer which is the exact same warmer from the same company at the exact same store that I bought the red orange warmer. The first (and last) time I used the white warmer the scent shot did not melt all of the way : ( I thought maybe my AC had something to do with it but I melt in the same spot in my kitchen and have had the AC running many times before with out any issues. On further inspection I noticed that the two warmer dishes were in fact not exactly the same. As you can see in the picture below the red orange warmer dish is completely flat on the bottom allowing direct and full contact of the hot plate. The white warmer dish has a rim around the edge which keeps the center from coming in contact with the hot plate. Yes I do see the chip on the rim of the white warmer dish but I really don't think that was the issue. I wanted to share this with all of you in case you are in the market for a new warmer. I went to another store who carries the same brand of warmer and I was able to find another white one with the flat bottom.

Oh goodness thanks for bringing that up. My warmer is the same thing as your white plate on the right. Mine has a lot of space between the lightbulb (mine's not on a heated plate surface) so I do struggle with getting equal wax melting. Most of the time the wax doesn't melt all the way to the edges.
What I'm trying to explore is placing a copper wire around the plate so it maintains the heat evenly even towards the edges. I've just been having difficulties with having a heat resistant epoxy to do it with - and I'm sure it's not that hard to find. For now I've been inserting a layer of foil and it's served well enough to melt everything evenly.
I do need to invest in another warmer for a different room and good to know to inspect the bottom of the plate as well as look at that wattage... Thanks Lisa!

Thanks for the heads up Lisa! I never would have thought to check the bottom of the plate. I have three warmers and they are all from CBV's site so I haven't had much trouble except for the newest one we just ordered. I ordered my mother the fancy small brown one with the pretty design on the sides on the website. I don't know it's name I think it is like fleur de lyse or something french like that. (too lazy to bring up the site to check lol) and it melts, but the edges aren't melting. Granted it has only been used 3 times, and the windows have been open and my mom has a fan on all the time so I might have to experiment to see if it is the fan that is causing the edges not to melt. I will report my findings back to you all in case you were in the market for a new warmer and were looking at that one. Hanna just be careful. I don't know much about the technical aspect of warmers but I just don't want anything catching fire or putting you in danger. I don't know how the copper or foil react to warmers but just be very careful and keep a watch on it. Might be safer to just buy a new warmer all together.

Hanna please be careful. I don't trust electrical stuff nor myself for that matter. I highly suggest the plate type warmer just because I've had great luck with them (except with the white dish). I have seen and should have bought custard/tart ceramic dishes intended for the oven. Next time I see them I'm going to pick one up to see if it will work with my hot plate. I know others have done this with those tart dishes with success.

Thanks you guys! No need for the worries for sure, the copper just distributes the heat more effectively around the plate. I follow Victoria's caution on burning or melting anything. Mine's not a hot plate like your other warmers, there is unfortunately a lot of space between the light bulb itself and the plate. We actually have tart ceramic dishes - I might try that out too!
