Hi guys, I am not here to promote my on-line candle party. That is not what this thread is about. I was just wondering what kind of luck you guys have had with them. Like do your friends get mad over you hitting them up and can we really get others to appreciate CBV (like we do) without them having tried em before?
I remember trying this one time, before I was really even THIS addicted to these candles and its produced 0 results for me. So, do I have cheap friends or what? Maybe I can direct them to youtube, so they can see for themselves. I just do not want to pressure my friends but I would really like for them to try these awesome products out. I certainly do NOT need a thing from it, but even a few scent shots out of the deal would be worth it to me and CBV.
OK, again I was just wondering what kind of results and feedback any of you have had.
Thanks for taking the time.

I have not hosted a candle party yet, so I really can't answer that. Sorry dear lol @ cheap friends! I guess some friends are just hesitant to try something new...I guess I would be hesitant too depending on what it was.

Well I haven't had one. A lot of my friends have been loving them so hopefully I can do one eventually. But I see it going not so great too. I'd recommend sending an email or whatever to friends and tell them "if you need/like candles I found a really great site that I love buying candles from- in fact I'm getting my Mother's Day present for myself here. They are reasonanly priced and triple scented. Don't feel obligated to buy any but I'm hosting a candle party and if you buy any before... please put this code in the comments. I've found it helpful to watch Youtube videos that review the scents. Although, there are a ton of them, here are few of them that I've found helpful. You can also smell just a few of the hundreds of scents that she has at my house" . Sorry I can't be much help but good luck with your candle party!

I recently did a party and ended up doing about seventy dollars. I think though that a good chunk of that was from people on the boards who were already going to be placing an order (not the point of holding a party). I know that I am SO NOT a sales person. I hate feeling like I'm inconveniencing anyone or being push.... I did take some of candles to work for co-workers to smell which I think is a great idea but again I'm not very good at "selling". I also couldn't light them as I work in a daycare and obviously...... Otherwise I think they sell themselves. I think your best bet might be to do it the old fashion way of inviting people into your home and let them try them out first hand. You might even find some buyers for those candles that you just don't love. Anyway, that's my long-winded opinion. ;D

"NO WAY I am not doing anymore freaking home parties". I am so anal over them. I clean the house and make food and then basically make the family leave and DO NOT use the toilet on your way out. It must stay clean. I did so many of them, my husband begged me to not do anymore.
I have bought so much from many friends, but if they don't buy.........whatever. I may add something to the invite like "check her out on youtube" and blah blah blah. You know. Whats the worse that could happen?? Nobody buys AGAIN! No biggy, I really do not need a thing. I just wish my cheap friends would give her a try and see how pleased they will be. Its worth a shot.
Thanks for the input.

ROFL Maureen! I feel your pain. Sadly, I have not been successful in passing on my CBV addiction to anyone else I know. That's why I have you guys!!! ;D

I had a party last month and made $303 in orders. (so $35 in free product). Many of my guests were already somewhat familar with CBV though.
When I originally announced mine I had alot of people expressing interest saying they were going to order because they love candles. I was disappointed in the end when few of those people actually did order.
But I think the idea of not being able to smell something first and the shipping costs throw people. Quite a few people actually commented on shipping costs but I did recommend them to pool their orders and split those costs.
I think in general people right now are just being more frugal with their money with the economy and everything. Sometimes it can be like, oh well another person trying to sell me something, ya know?
