Please remember this is a COLD SNIFF review
Rice Crispy Treats - Very sweet, nonspecific sweet. It does not necessarily smell like marshmallow or vanilla but there is a creaminess. I almost thought there could be almond but I asked and there isn’t any almond at all in this scent. I think it probably needs a little bit more cure time but right now I’m liking what I’m smelling.
Blackberry Caramel Rice Pudding - I do pick up a berry note wrapped in caramel. This is not as sweet or heavy as the caramel that is in Caramel Macciato. A light caramel on cold sniff, which adds a nice amount of sweetness. The berry is what I get the most on cold sniff and it reminds me a little of the blackberry in Blackberry Sage. I’m not sure what rice pudding smells like because it is not something I like to eat so I don’t think my nose would be able to detect it.
Singapore Sling - The scent has the same lemony cake scent as Lemon Pound Cake but it is not as heavy. It is a lighter and fluffier cake. There is also an extra touch of sweetness like maybe a sugar glaze. The bottom of the scent shot smells like cake when it starts to get golden as it bakes. This has been described as smelling like a lemon poppy seed muffin and I will agree. An absolute must for those who like bakery citrus scents.
Fruit Loops Cupcake – This smells exactly likes it name. Fruit Loops + Pink Cupcake. It is a little heavier on the Fruit Loops but you do get the cupcake scent. If you love Fruit Loops, try this one too.
Berry Blackberry Cobbler – Cold sniff I am getting equal parts berry and bakery. This is my first cobbler scent so I don’t have any other cobblers to compare it to nor can I say if smells exactly like a cobbler in general. What I can be certain of is that is a very yummy berry bakery scent and it was my husband’s favorite out of the whole lot. From cold sniff alone I think it is going to have more bakery than Wildberry Scone when warm.
Vanilla Cedar – I’m not picking up much vanilla right now and I’m totally okay with that. The vanilla will probably come out more once it is warmed. This scent smells like the wood department of the hardware store. If you love that scent than this scent is for you. Also if you like scents like Tomahawk Memories, What Goes Around Comes Around, Vanilla Sandalwood, and Sugared Spruce then I highly recommended you check out Vanilla Cedar.
Palm Island - I am actually really sad about this scent. This is a scent I have been wanting to order for a while. I pick up a light green note that smells like the bamboo in Bamboo & White Grapefruit and I do like that scent however there is another scent it reminds me of. It also has notes similar to Rolling In The Deep to my nose. I know a lot of people really like Rolling In The Deep but is one of the very few scents I just can’t handle. I really wish I knew specifically what note it is that I don’t like. If I wave the empty scent shot cup in front of my nose I do pick up something that I may like. I’m going to let this one cure for a while and revisit it again later. If you like Rolling In The Deep than maybe this scent will also be one to consider. I’d like to add that my teen daughter really likes this scent because of the green note.
Hello Dolly – Yum! Cold, I can pick out the Fudge Brownie and Coconut Cream Pie probably because I have and love both of those scents. I can’t not say for sure that I smell the Bubbling Butterscotch Sundae because I don’t have that scent, yet. I ordered Bubbling Butterscotch during the sale and will probably have it before the month is over. So this is a very yummy, sweet dessert type scent. Not really bakery since I don’t get a bready, crusty, note but rather a sweet gooey, yummy treat. Imagine Fudge Brownie but creamier. Because I really love the scents I can detect it is safe say that this be a favorite for me. I can’t wait to melt it.
Leaves Type – Dried leaves with an apple note hiding under that big pile of leaves. I don’t know if there is actually apple in this scent but I pick up a slight hint of it. The bottom of the scent shot smells a little like earth/dirt. Leaves, apple, dirt……that is what I smell. It is a fall scent for sure but on cold sniff I prefer Under The Harvest Moon. Melting this scent will of course give me more of an accurate feel for it.
Pink Sands – This is a YC dupe. I ordered this scent because of a recent trip to that store (it’s in the mall, don’t judge me to harshly lol). I love Sun & Sand and this is reminiscent of that scent but it has more of a floral feminine note to it. Cold it doesn't seem perfumey, but it is pretty and girly. It smells like what it is duping but better.
Oatmeal Butter Scotch Cookie – Oatmeal cookie is the strongest note. There is an added rich sweetness that I can only assume is the butterscotch. I cannot say that butterscotch jumps right out but it does give this oatmeal cookie scent some depth. My grandma fed me her homemade oatmeal cookies growing up so this scent it is definitely comforting and nostalgic for me.
Lemon Lavender – Another purchase because of the trip to YC. It is similar to the YC scent however this scent smells more lemon than lavender when cold. It is clean and bright and is a very happy scent. It is an herbal lavender however cold it is not as herbal as the lavender in Lavender Vanilla (which when warm isn’t very herbal). Puts a smile on my face.
Christmas Buttered Rum – It was described to me as smelling like the buttered rum candies and I agree but I smell more butter. I really like this scent and it is yummy to me, I just think I was hoping for more rum.
Charlie Brown Christmas – My teen says it is one of her top favorites so far and definitely her favorite Christmas scent. “Christmas in wax”. For me it smells like a fire in a fireplace with spices in the air. A good a scent for cold weather because it is definitely warm and inviting. The dust I think that Mandy smelled smells like a slight “musty” note to me. It is not bad but rather gives this scent and antiqued or aged feeling (granny’s attic).
Cinnamon Raisin Bread – This is delicious! Right now the cinnamon is probably stronger cold than it will be once warmed. I have noticed a lot of spicy scents tone down when they are warmed up. It absolutely smells like its name sake. I get the bread and the cinnamon for sure. The raisin is there but the cinnamon is stronger right now. I think it will all come together and every note will shine equally once in my warmer. Luckily I bought some cinnamon so I am prepared for the craving that scent will bring
Sugared Shortbread – Be still my carb loving heart! It’s straight up sweet carb loving heaven! There is a fresh note about it that almost smells lemony to me but no one else in my family smells the “lemon”. Pizzelle is another “fresh” bakery scent to me as well. This is like Granny’s Pie Crusts younger friskier sister. Hmmm, not the best imagery. I hate to say it but I may even end up liking this more than GPC once melted. My husband really loved this scent too. If you like scents like Pizzelle, Granny’s Pie Crust, and Sugared Corn Pudding definitely add Sugared Shortbread to your list.
Me Tarzan, You Jane – This is supposed to be a dupe for a BBW scent brown sugar f**. My memory is failing as to exactly what BSF smells like . It is earthy and deep. I can’t say that it smells like woods or dirt, “earthy” is all I can come up with right now. A warm scent that will be good in cold weather.
Macintosh Apple - Not a green apple or apple candy scent, this is the apple you want to smell in fall. If you are a mixer I can see this being a great apple to mix with. It is exactly what I was hoping for and I can’t stop smelling it.
Aujou Pear/Anjou Pear – This might be my favorite “pear” type scent yet. Plain pear it is not. Blossoms give this scent a flirtatious femininity. Very pretty.
Warm Apple Fritters – This is Cinnamon Donuts and Macintosh Apple. I am actually surprised that the Macintosh Apple is stronger than the Cinnamon Donuts right now. It is a very nice scent but I was hoping to smell more Cinnamon Donuts, another that I will let cure.
Chai Tea – I get all the spices you’d expect from chai tea but yet there is something missing from this scent to make a true chai tea for me. This is a very lovely scent and oddly enough I want in in b&b. I can see it making a great body spray scent but I’m betting that the spices make this scent not skin safe. I wonder if this is the same chai tea scent that is in Stress Relief? I can’t wait to melt this one.
Amber Romance - On cold sniff I don’t think this is the same Amber Romance that I remember from years ago. It is not as amber or musky. It is a very pretty scent, relaxing actually. It is warm and a bit powdery. I think I am going to have to melt this one before I can really give a fair description of it.
Mojito – Confession, I have never had a mojito and therefore will not be a good reviewer of this scent. My husband liked this scent a lot and knows what goes into one of these drinks. He says it doesn’t really smell like a mojito but is “delicious, yum”. I seriously can’t describe it. Sorry
Moonlight Path - My free scent shot. This is a dead on dupe for the BBW scent. Relaxing, feminine, and powdery. I have bought this scent for my grandma as a gift and it reminds me of her
