Good day everyone I'm back to do the cold sniff review on the twelve new to me scent shots I received yesterday with my birthday/April Sale order. Most of these scents are the the new scents that were added in April, minus a few.
Pucker Up - This scent is a mix of Fizzy Pop and Pink Grapefruit and it smells exactly like the two. If you have never tried Pink Grapefruit on its own let me tell you that it is a sweet grapefruit and isn't bitter or sharp like the white variety. If you are a fan of Fizzy Pop I bet you'll like Pucker Up.
Cozy Kitchen - This is one of my favorites from the bunch. Caramel Apple and Creme Brulee are combined to make this wondrous scent. I have never tried either of these two scents alone. The apple I get is a Macintosh apple. Cozy Kitchen on cold sniff definitely has a lot of apple going on which I love but the creamy sweetness from the caramel and Creme Brulee add a comforting, well "cozy" feel to it. If you like Macintosh Apple, Cozy Kitchen may be perfect for you. I seriously can't stop sniffing this one! I hope all of the notes remain as balanced as they are cold once warmed. If the apple fades I'll probably be adding Caramel Apple to my cart.
Pomegranate & Apple - I don't get a Macintosh apple with this scent but I don't exactly get a green apple either. I can't say for sure what pomegranate is suppose to smell like but there are notes in here that are reminiscent of Champagne Pomegranate to me. Sweet and fruity! I'm glad to have this one in my collection for the warmer weather that started early here in California.
Satsuma Punch - Speaking of Champagne Pomegranate it is one part of this juicy scent. The other part I'm sure you can guess is Satsuma. I love both of these fragrances on their own and I think they smell amazing together. Satsuma adds a bright citrus note to the Champagne Pomegranate. This another great scent to have in the warmer months. I can't wait to melt!
Luna (Type) - Even though the scent description states there are fruits in this scent what I mostly get is floral notes. To be honest this is the type of floral scent that I personally think I'd rather wear than to have in my house. Please don't write this scent off, it really is beautiful. If 007 and Between The Sheets are among your favorites than I can see Luna (Type) being a scent you might enjoy as well. I get "white" florals like the ones I pick up in Wedding Day. I know my mom is going to love this scent because she tends to love perfume type fragrances.
Pumpkin Cupcake - I do get cupcake, perhaps with out too much sweet frosting and a good amount of spice. I've noticed that spicy scents can seem to be spicier cold covering up the other notes that might otherwise be more detectable once warmed or burned. This is why is it is very important to never judge a scent too harshly on cold sniff alone, always melt or burn a scent before dismissing it completely. Sniffing deeper I am able to pick up a creamy sweetness. Frosting? This scent shot has lots of oils. I find this one to be quite enjoyable and I really think all of the notes will come together once in my melter.
Frankincense & Myrrh - I'm not picking up on the patchouli and orange as stated in the scent description and that is neither a bad or a good thing I suppose. Patchouli scents can be hit or miss. For those who fear or even say hate patchouli I wouldn't let the word patchouli in the scent description deter you from giving this one a try especially if you otherwise like some earthy scents. I'm going to use my daughter Kira's description of this scent. She said that it smelled like old books to her. She imagines the aunt's library full of old books in the book Inkspell would smell the way Frankincense & Myrrh smells to her. Let me add that it doesn't smell "dusty" but rather aged in a sophisticated earthy type of way. Thank you Cayla for the review of this scent because I really feel like this is one we are going to enjoy. I love scents like Leather Lace and Vanilla Sandalwood. Frankincense & Myrrh definitely has the potential to become a new favorite in the Earthy category for me.
Sweet Puddin' Pie - Granny's Pie Crust and Sugared Corn Pudding. Sugared Corn Pudding is first detectable on cold sniff most likely because in general it is a stronger scent. GPC is definitely in the mix and this is a delicious smelling combo of two yummy bakery scents.
Edward Cullen - My free scent shot
This is suppose to be "sunshine, lilac and honey". I pick up a Daffodil/Honeysuckle type of floral note, both florals I really love. I can pick up another floral slightly and I'm assuming it is the lilac. Lilac in fragrance and the actual flower isn't my favorite so honestly I'm not picking up a floral note that I don't like. I'm surprised at how much I like this scent, It is very sweet and I'll probably start with a small piece in my warmer for starters.
Sugar Daddy - What a fun name! Again this is a scent comprised of two different scents, both which I really love on their own, Candy Crush and Blue Sugar Cotton Candy. Sweet and musky. I'm not sure if I can elaborate any more than that. Blue Sugar Cotton Candy is the sweet muskiness that is found in Barefoot In Blue Jeans, a scent many people including myself love. Candy Crush is a newer scent that also has a large fan following and I'm in that fan club too
. This one is another favorite of mine from this order.
Margaritaville - Jimmy Buffet and Margarita Lime. Jimmy Buffet I have tried and love, it is pina colada amped up on pineapple to me. Margarita Lime, I have not tried. Margaritaville is definitely a tropical mixed drink scent worthy of a poolside day dream in the very least.
Scrumptious Scoops - The cherry on cold sniff is very strong. I wish I could detect the chocolate fudge but I just cannot. Sadly the vanilla and banana's are MIA as well. As I stated above, I am not writing this one off but rather I'll tuck it away for a little cure time and will check on it again in a few weeks. I have had Scrumptious Scoops bounce around my cart for a long time.
The
Solid Perfume is in the scent
DKNY Delicious and is a Mother's Day gift for my mom. The scent is quite strong in the cute oval tube (I took the lid off), not strong in a bad way but it isn't light which is good. I'll have to let you know if she has a reaction from the scent on her skin. I don't think she is as sensitive as much as myself or my kids are. She however is VERY honest.
LOL Cayla, I'd be flattered to be stalked (totally kidding) but trust me I'm not that interesting LOL.
All the candles look really great in the kitchen. I know I played it safe by sticking with like colors all in a "beige" hue. I don't think I'll be burning the Farm House Gathering Cutie for some time because it is just too cute. There is a white wax heart in the center and Hanna yes the "cinnamon stick" is wax
The only thing I'll need to remove before burning is the homespun ribbon.
Here is a top view of the Farm House Gathering Cutie - I LOVE IT!
