I was fortunate enough to receive this order yesterday! Cutting it pretty close considering we are leaving for two weeks tomorrow! So this is my June Order Review. Like I said, I couldn't wait any longer because I was anxious to use some credits. The names of the products are color coded to match the color of the actual product. I hope you find this review useful!
Scent Shots:
Iced Orange Bundt Cake- I absolutely love this scent! I am a huge fan of Carrot Cake Orange Delight and I believe this is the fragrance added to give it that orange frosting touch. It is fresh yet homey at the same time. If you love both citrus and bakery scents this is the perfect balance of both. In a nutshell, this scent smells like a sweet orange glaze!
Banana Coconut Cream Pie- If you have seen my posts on this board, you know this is a must have in my house. When my mom heard I ordered this scent she screamed and hugged me...it is that good. This smells exactly like banana pudding with the vanilla wafers and whipped cream. Once you put it in the warmer, the coconut becomes stronger as if some coconut was sprinkled on top as a garnish. If you don't like bakery I still would try this scent because it is more of a creamy banana rather than a rich, dessert-like banana. I love this in the summer!
Carrot Cake Orange Delight- I quickly burned through my candle in this and decided to try a scent shot in order to surround myself in this wonderful fragrance even more! Sadly, I think my candle smelled better. Right now, I'm getting super strong cinnamon with just a hint of orange. Now this may be a curing thing, but I don't recall smelling any cinnamon in my candle! If any of you are familiar with Christmas Kitchen, that is what this is smelling like right now. I will absolutely give this more time because it is one of my favorite scents.
Coconut Cream Pie- This scent shot is actually white but we all know that wouldn't be very effective! Because I love Banana Coconut Cream Pie, I figure I would try this scent. Right now I'm getting kind of a perfumey coconut scent. It is very creamy but lacking the crust scent I was hoping for. I will allow this one some cure time.
Pumpkin Pecan Waffles- This one was love at first sniff! Let me tell ya, I am not a fan of Victoria's pumpkin scents unless they are sweetened. This scent is definitely sweet and I can't smell the pumpkin. This smells identical to what its duping! I can see why they mixed this with Captain Crunch Berries because they kind of smell similar. If you are a hardcore bakery fan, this is a must for the colder months! It is so creamy, doughy, sweet, and inviting.
Cinnamon Apple Oatmeal- My absolute favorite breakfast on a cold morning is Apple Cinnamon Oatmeal by Quaker and this smells pretty close. I am going to give it cure time for more of the oatmeal creaminess to come out because right now it smells alot like Spiced Apple Pie. This scent is very spicy, so it is well suited for winter.
Vanilla Hazelnut Coffee- I was expecting to love this one but I am not impressed. The hazelnut and coffee mix together to make this really strong, fake coffee smell. I do have sophisticated coffee nostrils though, so I may just be being picky.
Cozy Kitchen- This scent was created by the autumn heavens! If you are looking for the perfect fall scent...look no further! This is a wonderful combination of caramel apple and creme brulee. I get a sweet yet tart apple covered in caramel with just a kiss of spice. This scent isn't too heavy so those of you who aren't a fan of caramel will still be able to enjoy this scent. It reminds me so much of something that I just can't put my finger on. It almost smells like a sweeter version of Leaves Type...as if that scent was kissed with caramel. Delicious!
Jaba Juice- I love this whole entire scent shot. The color is perfect (a great mix of red and orange) and the scent is magnificient! This is a mix of volcano and pink sangria. Both scents are some of my favorites so I knew the combo would be fantastic. I get a more tropical, tangy, mango version of pink sangria...as if it was a tart mango sangria rather than a berry sangria. I'm not going to lie, the green notes in volcano did scare me at first but the help to make this scent less sweet. If you thought pink sangria was sweet, please try this one because you won't be disappointed!
Morning in Madrid- This is a scent I would have never tried on my own, but boy am I glad this came in my order as my free scent shot. I get a sour orange note followed by a sweet bubbly scent. There is something else in there that is adding a touch of depth to the scent...maybe the chili pepper? I know it sounds scary but this is a great summery scent. I feel like this would be great in the evening when you want that summer scent but with just a little bit more strength and depth to fit the dark of the night...ya feel me?
Pazazzy- Pazazzy was the most disappointing of the order...I hate to admit it. I was looking for a more tropical scent and I figured this would be fitting: it is a blend of pina colada, coconut, lemon, and lime. Sadly, this smells alot like Pink Sands with less of a perfumey note. The scents all blend together to make an entirely different fragrance. The only scent I can detect is just a hint of lime on the bottom. Sadly, this isn't the tropical scent I was looking for...but the name and color make it even better!
Orange Keylime- One of my favorite scents is Keylime Pie and this scent made me realize why. I really enjoy how much the meringue and crust make the keylime sweet, but this scent is a straight keylime. It smells like the overly sour zest of a keylime with a bright, sweet orange. I'm hoping this scent will get a little bit more orangey in the warmer but it is nice and fresh nonetheless.
Other Random Goodies
Oatmeal Raisin Cookie Cube Melts- This was the very first scent I ever melted by CBV! I fell in love because it smelled just like oatmeal butterscotch cookies. This time around, I am getting a little bit more of the spice found in Oatmeal Raisin Cookies. The brown sugar and cookie dough are standing in the forefront of this scent, making it that perfect non-offensive scent. I got this in a large size because I figured it would be great all year round and no matter who was in my house for the night. You MUST try this scent if you like brown sugar fragrances.
Chocolate Cinnamon Sugar Cookie Surprise 16 oz- First of all, I absolutely love this jar. In youtube reviews, it looked way larger than it does just sitting here in front of me so I was afraid it wouldn't burn to the edges very well. But in person, it looks like the perfect sized candle. I love the swirling designs and the crumbs on top. The only thing I'm missing out on are the tiny crumbs that she usually puts on the bottom. It isn't a big deal though because obviously you won't be looking at the bottom of the candle when it is burning. Right now, all I smell is the Cinnamon Buns fragrance. I hate to use the word generic, but it smells like a pretty generic cinnamon roll candle to me. I can't wait to smell the other layers and how they combine!
Many scents and a few hand cramps later, we have reached the end! Sorry for all of the fall scents in the middle of summer...I have a serious love affair with the colder months and how cozy my house gets! I hope you try some of these scents and let me know what your nose thinks of them too! I probably won't be on very much the next few weeks because I will be wasting away the days in Myrtle Beach. I know, poor me.
