Hey guys!
I was able to circulate through my April orders and I have my opinions on these scents below. I'm noticing more and more that I'm not a huge apple fan, I'm going to have to keep in mind that I'll try an apple smell in a scent shot and not commit to a candle.
Dislikes:
Bermuda Triangle- I can smell mostly apples and it has a sourish note to it? I'm going to continue letting this cure but every time I try to give it a chance I'm not a fan.
Crackling Birch- This is an EXACT duplicate from my dad's aftershave. I am definitely not a fan of cologne like smells, cold and warm it smells the same. Nope, nope, nope, don't like.
Mystic Berry- Smells too medicinal and licorish.
OK's:
Back Roadin'- Fall scent, but too cologne like to me.
Bear Claws- Slightly too spicy but much too strong for me to enjoy. I do smell the raisins in this.
Berries & Cream- I can smell the combination of sweet berries but the cream in this is too strong. I was hoping for a lighter and fresher smell. Too thick for a home scent.
Carnation- I know Abbie isn't a fan and I'm not either. It's a little too soft, but I can detect this in many of the base notes in other floral scents. I burn this whenever we cook something really strong and I just want a scent to dissipate it.
Chai Tea- I'm still a little on the fence about this, I can see myself melting this every now and then. It's has the clove and warmness to it I wish I can smell more of the honey and vanilla.
Coconut Water- The coconut smells too sunscreen/synthetic in my opinion. I can smell the other fruits in this, but the apple in it turns me off a bit.
Cotton Candy- sugary strawberries! Not as thick of a scent as Berries & Cream.
Emperor's Love- Most of this smells like lavender to me. This reminds me of a floral perfume, it's too strong for my taste.
Lime Crystal Kisses- I like this for the bathroom, it's a fresh and clean scent. The lime in this goes a little too salty and sour for me.
Sophie Bell- This has so many good reviews! I'll still burn this every now and then but I do regret getting this in the 8oz. Too much of a musky type of smell. Again, apparently there is apple in this even though I can't smell it very well in there. Hmmm.
Like's:
Birds of Paradise- This is what I wished Berries & Cream was! A lighter scent and extremely sweet!
Cantaloupe Lilly- This needed extra time to cure, I like this a lot better when it was burned rather than cold. A good after cooking scent, the cantaloupe and lillies are all there.
Hot Maple Latte- More maple than coffee but still great
Million Dollar Baby- This smells like a fruity tiramisu! So weird, I can smell rum soaked lady fingers with cocoa. It's so hilarious because it doesn't have cocoa nor rum in this at all.
Neroli Blossom- Oranges! But it smells a little synthetic.
Pucker Up- A sparkly scent, grapefruit smells nice and fresh with Fizzy Pop
Raspberry Rainbow- Raspberries and orange juice = tangy sweet!
Strawberry Jam- Ultra sweet and mega strawberries. I sometimes have to blow out this candle early with how strong this baby is.
Tiny Bubbles- Powdery melon with a tropical smell, it's a different level of carbonation than Fizzy Pop.
Favorites:
Butterfly Kisses- Mostly cantaloupe with honeysuckle. I feel that the sweetness of the honeysuckle does it enough justice. I'll be mixing this scent with another for sure!
Cottage Garden- Fresh and floral sweetness
Grape Soda- Cayla is totally right, it's complete candy/gummy bears! An addicting scent with a powerful throw
Orange Chiffon Cake- Sour orange bakery cake scent
Pecan Pie- Smells just like pecans mixed with brown sugar
Pomegranate Oak- I smell fruit leather which I had it a LOT when I was a kid. This brought back some nostalgic memories.
Singapore Sling- 100% lemon poppyseed muffins, I like how fresh this smells and not very heavy like some other bakery scents.
